The game that has gained popularity after football around the world today is cricket. Cricket is a disease for people living in South Asia more than Europe and Africa, which if the player is engaged, becomes great and if the audience feels, all the games fade ahead of it. Where did the word cricket come from?
Cricket was called cricket (Creckett) in the known context of the earliest period in 1598. It is believed to be derived from the cric (-a) of central Dutch, or from the old English creek or cryke, that is, crutches or sticks. In 1721, English sailors of the East India Company were reported to have played cricket at Cambe near Baroda and this is the earliest reference to playing cricket in India. Cricket started and established in India, and then in Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, through the East India Company.
The first international cricket match was played after 1844 although international Test cricket officially began in 1877. At that time the game was originally played in England which is now professionally played in most commonwealth countries.
